SHELBY
This bike is a tribute to my favorite TV series: Peaky Blinders. Elegance was one of the characteristics of the Shelby family, protagonist of the story, and really lived between 1800 and 1900. The colors are inspired by those of their Bentley and the saddle is a Selle Royal covered in Tweed, like the caps they wore. Could not miss the razor blade, which they hid in the hat and used as a weapon. The frame is an artisanal Aquila di Levane Montevarchi from the 70s, with Columbus tubes and Gipiemme dropouts. Once stripped, I polished the head lugs and painted the rest with the Bentley colors. The headset is Campagnolo, the seat post 3TTT. The transmission is Shimano, with the bottom bracket and the rear derailleur of the 105 series and the LX cranks, but with only a 46 chainring, while the levers are Campagnolo. The cassette is 8-speed 11-28. The brakes are very efficient, with Dia-Compe levers and dual-pivot calipers. The stem is a gorgeous Syncros Cattle Head and the aluminum Zoom handlebar is lined with canvas tape, padded with neoprene. The wheels have aluminum hubs with sealed bearings and Mavic Open Elite 36 hole 700c rims and mount Panaracer Gravel King tires.
